PLEASE JOIN AND SUPPORT the American Canoe Association. All of Paddle Creek’s instructors learned to teach you paddling through the efforts of the ACA. This is an organization of 20,000 plus members across North America dedicated to paddlesports education, watersports safety and the stewardship of our inland and coastal waters. Formed in 1880, the ACA is one of America’s oldest non-profit organizations.

Approximately 4,000 ACA certified instructors around the world interact with around 890,000 paddlers and paddlers-to-be every year. The ACA is a tireless defender of paddlers interests with local, state and federal government agencies and continually lobbies and educates those agencies about paddling interests. The ACA is actively engaged in sponsoring youth and collegiate paddlesports events and is a world-leader in developing paddling involvement programs for persons with disabilities including many wounded veterans groups.

ACA’s Safety, Education and Instruction Council develops detailed paddler and paddling instruction programs and watersports safety programs that form the standards on which most paddling education programs in North America are based. The US Coast Guard has routinely look to ACA with grants to develop paddlesports safety programs and ACA has come through with many printed products and videos available to the public.

ACA also provides its membership and over 70 affiliated paddling clubs tangible benefits including ACA sponsored event and course insurance programs, hull insurance for paddlers, discounts on ACA publications, a VIP discount on Subaru automobiles, access to ACA sponsored  and a subscription to Paddler magazine.
